In the forests of the Mookerheide, various birds can be spotted. During the day, you can listen to different woodpecker species, and in the evening, the nightjar may appear. At the end of summer, from August onwards, the heathlands turn beautifully purple. These heathlands are an ideal habitat for reptiles such as sand lizards, snakes, and slowworms. Additionally, beautiful Scottish Highland cattle can be found on the Mookerheide. Perhaps you can capture them through your lens and take a beautiful photo.
